DeMoura|Smith LLP is pleased to announce that founding partner Ken DeMoura has been selected by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as a “Go To Lawyer” for business litigation. Senior trial attorneys with a history of success are selected for inclusion in the publication for their expertise in business and commercial matters, knowledge of relevant case law, statutes and regulations; experience, and ability to think creatively and identify all options for a client. In addition to these traits, MLW also considers whether the lawyer is one to whom other lawyers make referrals because of his or her expertise and accomplishments; in other words, a “Go To Lawyer.” Ken was the only North Shore attorney selected for inclusion and only one of three non-Boston-based trial attorneys recognized by the publication.
For over thirty-five years, Ken has appeared before all state and federal courts in Massachusetts for his clients, handling a wide range of matters including commercial disputes, product liability, employment, intellectual property, personal injury, partnership, banking, construction, professional liability, and bankruptcy cases. An AV-rated attorney, he has successfully tried dozens of cases to verdict and obtained defense verdicts, multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients. He is often called upon, on the eve of trial, to appear as trial counsel, by clients, and other attorneys who do not try cases. He is Past-President of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyers organization limited to less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. He previously served as chairperson of the Complex Commercial Litigation Institute. He is recognized by Best Lawyers in America for his work in Business Litigation. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a member of the Steering Committee for the Boston Bar Association Business and Commercial Litigation Section. Since 2005, Ken has been recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and has been included in the Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel edition in the area of business litigation since 2010. Ken is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
